WARRINGTON'S Cheshire County Cricket League clash with Mobberley hardly got started on Saturday because of the rain.

Their openers were still at the wicket on 66 for 0 at 5pm, when the game was abandoned.

Warrington's thirds got the worst end of the weather during their defeat against Neston.

While fielding, the ball was wet and perhaps the game should have been abandoned.

An appalling decision against the Warrington captain started the slide for Warrington as they chased 183 for 3.

Without 26 from Ryan Gratton, the Warrington total of 78 would have been even more dismal.

Warrington's fourths started poorly on a damp wicket at Neston and only a good knock of 32 from T Lloyd managed to keep the score ticking over to a total of 95 all out.

Despite a good effort from J Pennington, 2 for 7, and J Chadderton, 1 for 5, Neston secured victory in 23 overs.

Warrington's under 13s came out on top in a Cheshire County Cricket League clash with Appleton on Sunday.

On a tricky pitch, Appleton were restricted to 67 for 8 in 24 overs.

In reply, Warrington were steered home by Tom Lees, 33 not out in 15.1 overs, and ran out victors by five wickets with 8.5 overs to spare.

Earlier in the week, the under 11s won their NCJCA Cup tie at Barrow by 19 runs.

A strong performance from the team with Oliver Walker, Will Fleetwood and Jacob Riley standing out with both bat and ball.
