A graduation ceremony has been held to celebrate the successful first year of a Lewisham College led project which helps small and medium enterprises (SME's) throughout London improve their efficiency.
Get on at Work was established to train employees with skills for life, including literacy, numeracy of English for speakers of other languages (ESOL).
The aim of the scheme which is funded by the European Social Fund and Learning Skills Council is to improve individual work performance, increase organisational efficiency and achieve a qualification in the process.
The project targets employees from sectors with an over-representation of black and ethnic minority groups which often have difficulty accessing training.
Leroy Vassell, a Lewisham College tutor said: "It was tremendous seeing the employees celebrate their educational achievement.
