THE winning partnership of Cotswold-based trainer Kahlil Burke and promising conditional jockey, Johnny Farrelly, struck again when winning a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen with six-year-old 14/1 chance Fisby.

"That was another great ride by Johnny who has now ridden three winners for me from just six rides," Burke enthused.

"The horse hasn't been the easiest to train and I am just delighted that he has got his nose in front and finally repaid the patience shown by his owner, Peter Valentine.

"He will hopefully improve fitness wise from that run and will now be kept to go summer jumping."

Fisby, a five-time winner on the Flat, was having his fifth run over hurdles for Burke, whose main yard of 30 boxes is at Bourton-on-the-Water.

The win maintains Burke's impressive strike rate over jumps this season of more than 30 per cent of his runners being in the prize money.

"It's not only winning races that matters but being able to place horses in the right sort of races where they can pick up prize money," Burke declared. "That always keeps the owners happy and helps with training fees."
