CHRIS Jones senior partner at leading law firm Langleys, in York, has retired from the company after almost 30 years.

Having joined the practice as an articled clerk in 1978, he was made a partner in 1984 and since then played a major role in the management of the firm.

Apart from his firm-wide management responsibilities, Chris led the practice's claimant personal Injury and medical negligence unit for 20 years.

Sally-Ann Robinson succeeds him as head of the unit.

Chris, who is looking forward to concentrating on his property interests and his passion for traveling, said: "It has been a privilege to serve Langleys over so many years. I leave in the certain knowledge that the firm is in good hands and that it will continue to go from strength to strength".

Mike Williamson, managing partner, said: "Chris has been a dedicated member of the team here for the past 30 years and will be missed. Everyone at Langleys wishes him well."
