Liam Neeson appears in the new trailer for Men In Black: International, his first film role since his controversial comments about race earlier this year.

Neeson stars as an MIB agent working with Chris Hemsworth in London in the latest footage from the film.

The actor previously revealed in an interview that he harboured violent thoughts about killing a black person after someone close to him was raped.

The actor said he walked the streets armed with a weapon hoping he would be approached by someone so that he could kill them.

A red carpet at the premiere of his last film, Cold Pursuit, was cancelled in the wake of his comments, as was an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s US talk show.

The actor will return to the big screen in the latest instalment in the Men In Black franchise, which also stars Dame Emma Thompson and Tessa Thompson, replacing previous stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

In the trailer, Thompson can be seen trying to convince Dame Emma to recruit her to “the best kept secret in the galaxy”.

She reveals that the MIB erased her parents’ memories but didn’t get hers, and she now wants to join the service to defeat aliens.

When Dame Emma welcomes her to the Men In Black, Thompson says; “The Men in Black?”

Dame Emma replies: “Don’t, don’t start. I’m working on it.”

Men In Black: International is due to be released in UK cinemas on June 14.
