Volunteers who entertained shoppers with live radio shows over the weekend raised hundreds of pounds.
DJs at Radio Northwick Park, which broadcasts to patients in the hospital in Watford Road, spent Saturday and Sunday recording their shows live at the St Ann’s Shopping Centre in Harrow.
The volunteers, who played more than 100 requests from passers-by, raised £830 for the charity – a record amount on the outdoor broadcasts they have worked on since 2006.
Fundraising officer Dan Cottrell said: “It was great to see so many members of the local community digging deep into their pockets and enjoying the entertainment we provided.
“I would like to thank everyone for their generous support.”
The cash raised will go towards running the 40-year-old charity, which has more than 120 volunteers and relies on donations.
