A foundation trying to stop the 2011 summer riots from repeating has secured a grant of £32,500 to educate young people in Haringey about the local heritage.

The Lightup Foundation is using the money from the Heritage Lottery Funds to fund their Young Heritage Ambassadors Project.

It aims at reducing the chance of a reoccurrence of violence, opportunistic looting, vandalism and arson on historical buildings by giving young people a sense of ownership over thier community.

Some of the organisations the foundation is working in partnership with the are Royal Institute of British Architect, Haringey Libraries and Bruce Castle Museum.
