A primary school football team has qualified for the London Youth Games after winning a borough-wide tournament.

The team of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils from Coldfall Primary School, in Coldfall Avenue, Muswell Hill, won the Haringey Boys Football tournament on Thursday afternoon.

They took the title after beating Our Lady of Muswell School 2-0, beating Rhodes Avenue School 1-0 and drawing 1-1 with Noel Park School.

The team are now Haringey champions and will represent the borough at the London Youth Games at the Crystal Palace National Athletics Stadium in July 2014.

Head teacher Evelyn Davies said: "We are so thrilled to start this academic year with such a fantastic achievement by the squad.

“We cannot wait to cheer them all on at the London Youth Games next summer."

The team was led by captain Kido Taylor-Hart from Year 6, and the top goal scorer was Theo Cadby from Year 5, who scored twice in the final four games.
