A new scheme will give independent traders a facelift for their businesses.

Up to 25 independent businesses around Tottenham High Road and West Green Road will see their shop fronts revamped with bespoke motifs designed by the owners and YOU&ME Architecture.

The £90,000 initiative is funded by the Greater London Authority and shopkeepers following an earlier pilot in West Green Road that in which Portuguese restaurant Bom Pecado, property agents ABBA and Uncle John’s Bakery received new designs.

Councillor Alan Strickland, cabinet member for regeneration and housing said: “Local residents have been really passionate about making their high street a cleaner, greener place to visit, and it’s great to see Tottenham’s traders stepping up to the mark by getting enthusiastically involved with these new shop fronts.

“It was really pleasing to see the overwhelmingly positive reaction to our pilot project in West Green Road, and these latest striking designs should make more people take a second look at the great independent businesses on their doorstep.”
