Public consultation is finally set to begin on long awaited redevelopment proposals in Tottenham Hale.
Muse Developments and the Tottenham Canal & River Trust have announced dates on which they will meet people over plans to redevelop Hale Wharf near Ferry Lane, close to Tottenham Hale train and underground stations.
Plans for the site include up to 500 new homes and more business space.
Michael Orr, development director at Muse Developments, said: “The redevelopment of this important site has been held in the pipeline for a number of years because of a challenging UK and global economic climate. However, the time is now right to deliver this exciting development and its wider community benefits, and we are looking forward to the first step of public consultation with the local community.”
Key features of the plans include a new bridge across the River Lea, better pedestrian links, upgrading access for commercial barges including canal wall repairs, and increased access to The Paddock community nature park.
Consultation will take place on Wednesday February 3 at Ferry Lane School, Jarrow Road, between 4pm and 8pm, and on Saturday February 13 at The Engine Room Community Centre, Waterside Way, between 10am and 1.30pm.
The consultation will end on 26 February.
Following public consultation and further design work, a planning application for Hale Wharf will be submitted to Haringey Council by the summer.
