A “dangerous and violent” man who stabbed a person for refusing to let him into a party has been jailed.

Rochan Robinson, was sentenced to 14 years in prison at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, June 17 after pleading guilty to GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

Robinson attacked two victims following an argument in The Sandlings Estate, Haringey, when they refused to let him into a family birthday celebration.

DC Rachel Lloyd of Haringey Police said: “Rochan Robinson is a dangerous and violent man who callously attacked two men with a knife, causing a significant injury to one of them.

“The sentence handed down to Robinson shows the seriousness with which the courts take these sorts of offences. If you choose to carry a knife on the streets of London you should be warned that the police will arrest you and you will face a significant period of time behind bars.”

On September 26, one of the victims, a 26-year-old man, had been helping out at a family member’s birthday party at the Sandlings Estate community centre. Throughout the course of the evening a group of men, including Robinson, attempted to get in to the party but were refused by the victim.

At around 10pm, the victim and a friend were walking through the state when they were surrounded by a large group. One of them, Robinson, 20, of the Sutton Estate, Islington, lunged at them with a knife, stabbing the victim in the arm, and attempted to attack the other man, who escaped unhurt.

The victim was taken to hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening,

Both men were able to give detailed descriptions of Robinson to police, including the fact he was wearing a cast on his left arm.

Robinson was arrested in his Islington home two days later.
