Three in five students at a Tottenham college were able to celebrate passing all their A-levels yesterday.

Haringey Sixth Form College reported around 60 per cent of their Year 13 students had achieved a 100 per cent pass rates in their exams.

They will now prepare for university, with students set for institutions all over the country including Kent, Sussex and Exeter.

Khadija Ahmed is going on to study English at Warwick University after getting an A* and two As in further maths, physics and English language and literature.

She said: “Effort and hard work really pays off.  If you don’t work hard, you don’t get the grades.

“My English teacher inspired me to consider English at university and opened me up to the world of literature.  She was also a mentor to me”.

Head teacher Russ Lawrance added: "We are thrilled with the outstanding success of our students. It has been a busy morning and we are pleased to see so many of our students achieving their expected places at Russell Group and a wide range of other universities.

“Students and staff have worked incredibly hard over the past year and we are really proud of these results. Our A-level students now leave us for the next exciting chapter in their lives as they take up their places at university, employment, or begin their gap year and the staff wish them well.

“Some of our students were able to overcome really challenging personal circumstances to achieve excellent results. This was partly due to the support and guidance given to them by the college, the staff, and due to their hard work.”

The results mark the end of a good year for the college, which was rated "good" by Ofsted in October.
