A couple say their 40th wedding anniversary will be extra special this year - because they won £60,000.

Anthony and Kathie Holding scooped the cash from the People's Postcode Lottery, when his post-code, in Hood Avenue, Southgate, was picked.

Roofer Anthony was surprised when ambassador Jeff Brazier appeared at his door with a cheque.

The 62-year-old said: “My wife Kathie and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and her 60th birthday this year, so this win has come at a really great time in life and will really change everything for us.

“Our kids and grandkids will definitely be getting spoilt and I’ve also got a few surprises up my sleeve for Kathie too."

After celebrating his windfall with a few beers, Anthony also plans to carry out home improvements.

Around 32 per cent of every ticket goes to charity, so the lottery has helped raise over £301million for 4,000 good causes across Great Britain.
