Around 50 people fled a flat fire that needed ten fire engines to bring it under control.

The blaze erupted in a block of flats by the North Mall in Plevna Road, Edmonton Green on Friday.

The blaze was under control by 7.10pm.

Crews from Tottenham, Chingford and Southgate fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
