Celebrity fashion designer Julien Macdonald OBE, and community hero Megan Bowyer will be cutting the ribbon and declaring the new Debenhams store open at the intu Watford shopping centre tomorrow.

Celebrity DJ and Made in Chelsea star Ashley James will also be there entertaining the hundreds of people that are expected to queue from 9.30am.

The new 86,000 square foot three-storey store brings a mix of exclusive designer collaborations, own label and international brand fashion, and home ranges, as well as leading beauty brands to the region.

Watford beauty fans will be the first in the country to experience the brand new Debenhams Beauty Hall of the Future - with a modern, easy to navigate and interactive layout, shoppers can browse, discover and experiment with products from established beauty houses and breakthrough brands.

A host of beauty treatments from Blow LTD. including manicures to Benefit brow waxes will also be available for shoppers to try.

Megan, 26, was chosen to cut the ribbon following a call out for people in the area to nominate a community hero who is an inspiration and has made a valuable contribution to society.

At aged seven, Megan fell of her bike during a family holiday and the fall caused a massive brain haemorrhage that left her with a permanent disability.

After struggling to find a job due to her disability, she now works for Watford Workshop – a charity that gives adults with disabilities work experience, training and life skills – as a fundraising co-ordinator.

As part of her prize, Megan will receive a personal styling session with Julien Macdonald before cutting the ribbon.
