An Irish woman is searching for the family of a deceased WWII RAF Volunteer Reserve in a bid to build a memorial to him.
Glenda Rodgers, from Portballintrae in Northern Ireland, took an interest in a Wellington bomber that crashed near her town on November 28, 1943 which killed all crew members.
One of the crew members was 22-year-old Sergeant Cyril Albert Stout, a Royal Air Force Volunteer from Leyton.
Glenda Rodgers said: “Sergeant Stout is remembered with honour in Chingford Mount Cemetery.
“I would like to get in touch with his next of kin to find out more about him.
“I hope to put a memorial in the place where these brave men lost their lives all those years ago and would appreciate any information.”
Sergeant Stout was the son of Frederik William and Mary Stout and husband of Jean Stout of Leyton.
