A man who “brazenly” sexually assaulted five girls on buses was jailed for two years. Mohammed Marinov, 27, of Enfield, pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual assault and one of outraging public decency following the series of incidents which happened on buses across north London. Police praised the victims for coming forward.

Enfield Council announced the closure of Ponders End Library to make way for a major regeneration scheme. The library closed in October as part of a £50million plan for new homes, shops and a community space in the area. The council said a new Ponders End Library will open in 2021.

2,000 people signed a petition to save the Intimate Theatre in Palmers Green. The historic theatre staged the first play broadcast live on television, in 1946. The building could be knocked down to make way for a more modern parish centre.

And Highfield Primary School in Enfield was forced to close its doors after an outbreak of false window spiders caused alarm amongst teachers.
