The Tesco Express in Theydon Bois will officially reopen next month.
The supermarket chain closed its store in Coppice Row last October following after thieves attempted to steal the ATM in a ram raid incident.
In a letter to the district's MP, anti-ram raid bollards have been proposed for the new ATM with with a fit-out of the interior ongoing.
Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has been in contact with Tesco chairman John Allan since the store’s closure.
She said: "I am pleased Tesco are making good progress with regards to work at the Tesco Express store which has been a great loss to the village while it has been closed.
"I have been particularly concerned about older people and disabled people who have had to manage without the services of the Post Office.”
