Low numbers of homeless people and travellers were reported to have visited the borough following rehousing.

Four rough sleeper camps were found across Epping Forest and Commons and Redbridge during October and November 2018.

These four sites were at the rear of the City of London Cemetery, The Triangle at Wanstead Flats, Wanstead Flats opposite the City of London Cemetery and Forest Glade in Leytonstone.

In total, seven people were found sleeping rough across the four sites.

One tent with one male was discovered at the rear of the City of London Cemetery.

One tent with a couple was found at The Triangle at the Wanstead Flats while a large tent with two males was at the flat opposite the City of London Cemetery.

Two tents occupied by two males was discovered at Forest Glade.

All of the rough sleepers found were offered and given assistance by Redbridge Homeless Team or St Mungo's Homeless Charity.

It is expected that there was a decline in rough sleeping over the winter period due to adverse weather and the opening of seasonal night shelters.

During the same period there have been no traveller incursions.

A partnership between the London Borough of Redbridge, the City Corporation has seen the inclusion of parts of Woodford Green and George Green in the London Borough of Redbridge’s High Court Traveller Injunction.
