Another late Andre Gray goal sealed victory for Watford in the FA Cup quarter-final, after Etienne Capoue's first half goal was cancelled out by Michy Batshuayi.

The Hornets had to battle, particularly during a nervy second half in which the visitors threw a lot at them, but they came out the other end with the victory in tact and a trip to Wembley on the cards.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Heurelho Gomes - 8

The Brazilian goalkeeper looked to have played his final match at Vicarage Road and what a way it was for him to bow out.

He made some brilliant stops to keep out the likes of Max Meyer and Luka Milivojevic and commanded his area expertly.

There was little he could have done to prevent Batshuayi's equaliser and he earned a big hug from head coach Javi Gracia at the end of the game. He is sure to be a miss at Vicarage Road next season.

Kiko Femenia - 8

Javi Gracia's decision to not include Daryl Janmaat in the starting lineup seemed a little harsh, but Femenia returned to his usual position with great aplomb.

He worked his socks off and defended well throughout, frustrating the likes of Andros Townsend and Meyer on the Palace wings.

Adrian Mariappa - 7

After the game Mariappa admitted he was relieved to have had his mistake cancelled out at the other end by Gray, but his performance constituted more than just one brief error.

All in all, Mariappa was solid in the centre and he really played his part in limiting chances for Palace.

Craig Cathcart - 7

Nothing seems to fluster Cathcart at the back, as he once again remained calm throughout the match.

He particularly kept his head at the start of the second half when Watford were under pressure and helped steady the ship to prevent Palace from having too much joy in front of goal.

He was also rather unlucky not to score at the other end when his header was cleared off the line.

Jose Holebas - 7

A lot of Watford's drive and determination seemed to come from Holebas in the first half, while his dead ball deliveries caused nightmares for the Palace defenders.

He was unlucky to be forced out of the game early and he will be missed if his injury is anything serious.

Will Hughes - 8

Throughout the first half Hughes was a real thorn in Palace's side, as he linked play between midfield and attack wonderfully.

Whether out wide, or coming into the centre, he was involved in a lot of Watford's progressive, attractive football and was a joy to watch.

He waned slightly in the second half, but overall he was brilliant.

Etienne Capoue - 9

Crystal Palace will have been sick of the sight of Capoue by the end of the match, after the Frenchman was all over the Eagles like a rash.

He battled fantastically in midfield, looked creative and energetic and remained composed to score his goal. A marvelous performance.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 8

Alongside Capoue, Doucoure was almost as impressive, as the two midfielders produced a dominant display, particularly in the first half.

Both players were near the top of their games and played a big part in securing the win.

Doucoure wasn't quite as consistent as his midfield partner, but he was still very good.

Roberto Pereyra - 8

The Argentine winger has been off the boil a bit of late, but he looked impressive once again as he caused all sorts of problems going forward, while pitching in with defensive work at the back.

The skill and ingenuity he showed to set up the second goal was terrific, begging the question why can't he do it more often?

Troy Deeney - 8

Another excellent captain's performance from Deeney saw the Palace defenders pushed and shoved around as they struggled to deal with his physicality.

He was a nuisance all game, especially at set pieces and worked hard to make sure the team got their Wembley reward.

Gerard Deulofeu - 9

Like Pereyra, Deulofeu has sometimes been criticised for his unwillingness to get back and help out in defence.

He was all over the field throughout the match and his work rate could not be called into question.

Going forward he was a menace and the Palace defenders had a hard time trying to control him.

SUBS:

Adam Masina - 6

The Italian filled in for the injured Holebas in the second half, but struggled to live up to his predecessor's billing.

He looked a bit out of his depth and regularly had to be bailed out by his colleagues.

Andre Gray - 8

It feels like groundhog day writing about another late Andre Gray winner, but once again he was the super sub and looked sharp and lively after coming off the bench.

Got into a great position for his goal and took it very well.

Tom Cleverley - N/A

Joined the game too late to make enough of an impact.
