Staff at a children’s pre-school said they are ‘delighted’ to receive an ‘Oustanding’ following their latest Ofsted inspection.

Queens Nursery Pre-School, on Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill, have come long a long way since opening in 2014.

The young children’s facility was first graded ‘Requires Improvement’ in 2015, followed by ‘Good’ in 2016.

The latest inspection was conducted on Tuesday, May 14, where they achieved top marks in the four main areas.

Kayleigh McAllister, manager at Queens Nursery Pre-School, said: “The nursery was delighted that Ofsted recognised and was particularly impressed with the dedication of the exceptional team to provide the children with wow factor activities.

“Throughout the day children make links with the local community on trips, explore cooking activities with the nursery chef, explore a wide range of ICT experiences and form warm relationships with the team.”

Highlights from the Ofsted inspector’s report included the youngster’s willingness to learn and teachers providing a welcoming, nurturing environment.

Statements published in the report said: “Children enjoy an exceptionally wide range of indoor and outdoor experiences that support their overall development really well.

"They engage in culinary activities indoor and explore natural activates outdoors. They learn superb life skills that prepare them well for future learning and school.

"Children learn excellent skills in readiness for school such as reading simple words and counting. "
