Huge crowds are expected to turn out for the Jessel Green Community Fun Day this weekend.

Several rides, inflatables, stalls and entertainment are expected to set up and entertainment audiences throughout the day which has become a popular annual event with residents.

Attendees will also have the chance to spot themselves in some aerial shots which will be taken by a resident who regularly films the green with a drone.

Town and district councillor for Loughton Roding Ward and former Loughton Town Mayor, Stephen Murray spoke about the upcoming event.

He said: “Not only will this be another great day for all the family, it will be a further opportunity to send a very clear message to Epping Forest District Council about the importance of this green to the community life of this part of Loughton”

Neil Bartlett, leader of the Save Jessel Green campaign said: “There is a variant of activities for everyone to do.

The event grows on year on year where the community has become more involved and it has become a calendar event.”

Live music performances organised by Loughton Town Council and Loughton Residents Association is likely to draw big audiences.

Several members from the council are also expected to attend on the day, highlighting the importance the green space plays to Debden residents.

The to prevent the Epping Forest District Council’s Local Plan to convert the recreational space to be converted into housing has been running since 2016.

Jessel Green Community Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday, June 30, from midday till 4pm.
