Families and friends were filled with excitement after an anticipated outdoor art festival which aimed to transform the perception of the town.

Imagine Festival took place in Watford town centre on June 28 to June 30 (Friday to Sunday). The festival showcased community, national and international artists to turn the town into a place of wonder and excitement.

The festival began in 2011 with the collaboration of Watford Borough Council and Watford Palace Theatre.

Over the past eight years this was the first major partnership of Watford Cultural Leaders Groups – Art Council England, West Herts College, Warner Bros. Studios, Watford Colosseum, Watford for You, BBC Concert Orchestra, Hertfordshire County Council and Watford Football Club.

Artistic director and chief executive of Watford Palace Theatre, Brigid Larmour said: “This year’s Imagine Watford was one of the busiest weekends the festival has ever had.

“I have to give a big thank you to everyone who performed, the Watford Palace Theatre team, our funders and sponsors and everyone who came down to see the festival.

“We are back next year on the 26 - 28 June when imagine Watford will officially be 10 years old.”
