The UK finalists for the first ever global Etsy Design Awards, recognising the work of extraordinary creatives from around the world, have been announced. A total of 160 sellers worldwide are through to the judging process and one of the finalists is from Tottenham.

Twin brothers Dee and Roshun Ayus, who own Etsy shop Ayus Designs, have backgrounds in architecture and product design. Their passion for using environmentally sustainable materials led them to design their lampshade which they've entered for the competition - made with special biodegradable composites fused with PLA made from renewable resources such as corn-starch, sugarcane, sugar beet and cassava.

Etsy sellers across multiple areas of expertise submitted their application for a chance to win $15,000, a dazzling trophy, and a bundle of marketing and business prizes.

An expert panel of judges comprised of internationally recognised tastemakers and entrepreneurs including interior designer Sophie Robinson, writer and actor Dan Levy, style expert Joe Zee, lifestyle writer and photographer Garance Doré, décor expert Holly Becker, fashion designer Anavila Misra and Etsy’s own Dayna Isom Johnson will name one Etsy seller the Etsy Design Award Grand Prize Winner while five others will be named the winners in each featured category. The winners will be revealed later this month.
