Four people have been arrested following a 10-mile car chase that started in Enfield.

Police attempted to stop a car in Enfield this morning (Saturday September 28) at 9.25am that was in connection with an ongoing investigation into a knife-point robbery.

A pursuit followed with a helicopter in support before the car was finally stopped in Langston Road in Chigwell.

Video footage shows the moment a car attempted to smash its way through several cars.

But armed police were able to stop the car and smash the window of the driver side before dragging out the driver.

Two men and women who were in the car have been arrested.

They have been taken to police stations where they remain in custody.

Police say no one was injured during the incident.

Part of Langston Road had been closed off today due to the incident causing major traffic but has since been re-opened.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “At approximately 09:25hrs on Saturday, 28 September, officers attempted to stop a car in the Enfield area in connection with an ongoing investigation into a knife-point robbery.

“The vehicle failed to stop for police. A pursuit was authorised with the support of the National Police Air Service.

“The suspect car collided with a number of vehicles before being stopped on Langston Road in Chigwell.

“There were no reported injuries.

“The occupants of the car – two males and two females – have been arrested on suspicion of motoring offences, including aggravated taking and driving away and allowing to be carried."
