Harrow Leisure Centre is running a cancer charity exercise event.

A charity exercise event on October 13 from 12pm to 4pm will be held to raise money for Harris & Trotter Clients Charitable Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support, both charities which help support cancer patients.

The special event day is being held to help fund immunotherapy treatment for Maria Christoffis, Harrow, who was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian caner in 2017. While the fundraising is mainly set in place for Ms Christoffis, the money will also go towards others who needed access to potentially life-saving cancer treatment.

Ian Milton, general manager at Harrow Leisure Centre, said: “Everyone knows someone who has suffered at the hand of cancer and these sorts of events are an amazing way to raise money for a great cause and support those in need.

“Harris & Trotter Clients Charitable Trust and MacMillan are extremely close to our hearts and we hope the local community will join us in our venture to raise money whilst having fun getting active.”

Participants can become sponsored to take part in the activities held throughout the day, where they can enjoy Zumba, high intensity training (HIT) sessions, combat and more at the leisure centre.
