A Warner Bros Studio tour gave a cancer survivor a magical experience of life as a Hogwarts student.

Around 115 children and parents affected by childhood cancer were brought together with Children with Cancer UK so that they could be given a private tour around the Harry Potter exhibition of Warner Bros Studios, Leavesden, on December 2.

One of the guests included Bella-Rose an eight-year-old cancer survivor from Croxley Green who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia since the age of three.

Shortly after she was diagnosed, Bella went into treatment but after a year and half of treatment she unfortunately relapsed and required a bone marrow transplant.

While she is thankfully cancer-clear now, there still are lifelong side effects associated with her cancer and treatment including a damaged liver and a higher chance of the cancer returning.

The mother, Abbie Stanwix, said she was thankful that the charity organised the memorable event around Warner Bros Studios as they explored the ‘Hogwarts in the Snow’ experience being held at the studios.

She said: “We’re so thankful to Children with Cancer UK for organising events like these so we can share special moments with other oncology families. It’s also important to share these special times with each other.

“Bella-Rose was in hospital for so long and has missed out on so much, it’s nice she can finally enjoy life!

“The Hogwarts in the Snow tour was a wonderful way to kick off the festive season. Bella loved flying on a broomstick and riding the Hogwarts Express, she really enjoyed her first butterbeer too.”

During the tour, families rode the Hogwarts Express, practiced spells with their personalised wands and saw what it was like to live the life of a Hogwarts student.

This was just one of the many events hosted by Children with Cancer UK which provides uplifting experiences during the Christmas period. The charity is hosting two ‘Brunch with Santa’ experiences, one in London on December 8 and another in Manchester on December 15.
