Police are progressing their investigation into a disturbance outside a Sainsbury’s store.

Officers were called to Old Station Road in Loughton shortly after 5.50pm yesterday to reports of a fight involving a number of teenagers.

The disturbance briefly moved inside the store, and a woman in her 40s reported a hand injury at the scene after attempting to disperse the group.

Essex Police attended and conducted a thorough search of the area and liaised with the British Transport Police.

Seven teenagers were stopped as a result of our initial enquiries.

As a result of the incident, a dispersal order was issued between 6.15pm last night and concluded at 2.15am this morning, Sunday January 19.

The order covered Staple's Hill to the north, Trap's Hill to the east, Warren Hill to the west and Valley Hill to the south.

This allowed officers to move people from the area if they were at a risk of behaving anti-socially.

An investigation is still ongoing, Essex Police would urge any witnesses who have not yet spoken to call 101 and quote the crime reference number 42/9742/20.
