A MAJOR Bradford road has reopened after a man was arrested on suspicion of explosive offences.
Police cordoned off Sutton Avenue, and part of King's Road/Swain House Road, at around 11:45am while the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) conducted a pre-planned operation.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of explosive offences.
A bomb disposal unit was also called to provide specialist advice and to arrange safe removal of items discovered during a search of a property.
There were two other houses on Sutton Avenue which were searched as part of the operation.
The cordon was causing major traffic issues, as people were diverted along King's Road toward Wrose Road.
But the cordon was lifted at around 3:30pm.
A spokesperson for the CTU said: "The roads are reopening and residents are now able to return to their homes.
"Searches at the three residential properties are ongoing, but they are not believed to present any risk to the public.
"Police would like to thank local people for their patience during this operation."
