A man was shot in the leg as police investigate reports of two shootings yesterday.

A man aged in his 20s was rushed to hospital after he was shot in High Road, Wood Green, at around 6.50pm on Saturday.

This morning, the Met Police confirmed his injuries are not life threatening.

High Road was cordoned off by police near the junction with Turnpike Lane with police vans scattered across the street while forensic officers inspected the scene to gather any evidence.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting.

Meanwhile, the Met are also investigating reports of shots fired at a similar time in Green Lanes. No one was injured.

In response to both reports, police were granted powers to stop and search people in a specific area without giving a reason.

These powers - a Section 60 order - covered the N22 postcode and eastern part of Haringey.
