An all-female women in football panel will be held at Vicarage Road.

Watford Football Club’s first Premier Network event for 2020 will feature an all-female line up including England’s greatest ever female goal scorer, Kelly Smith.

This will be the fifth event for the business network set up in association with Watford Chamber of Commerce.

This panel will focus on the success of women’s football, from both the players and industry perspective.

Guests on the panel will include Watford-born Kelly Smith, who was a former forward player for the Arsenal Women Football Club and was the England women’s record goal scorer with 46 goals.

She also played for Team GB at the 2012 London Olympics and later retired from football in 2015.

During the panel, Ms Smith will talk about how she overcame prejudice and depression on her career journey.

Helen Ward, who started her career at Watford and is now the captain of Watford FC, will also be sharing her experiences.

Jo Tongue, the CEO of sports agency Tongue Tied Media, will also be at the event.

As the former editor of the BBC football programmes such as 606, she has produced documentaries with Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.

She is also a board member of Women in Football, a network of professionals working in the football industry to support others.

Each guest will outline their career history and the challenges they faced, what they do now and will hold an open Q&A.

Lee Partidge, a Vibe 107.6 FM presenter from Bushey will be co-hosting the event.

The Premier Network will be on February 7 from 1pm at The View, Vicarage Road Stadium.

Tickets will cost £37.50 + VAT, to purchase tickets contact Caroline Jones on 01923496253 on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 09:30 to 14:30.
