Three men escaped from police after they were seen breaking into a house.
A property in Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green, was targeted by burglars just before 7pm on Sunday.
A window at the back was smashed and once inside, the burglars stole jewellery from a bedroom.
They were last seen leaving via the back of the house, before jumping over a fence into a neighbour's garden.
Police rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised and a helicopter was also called, but officers could not find any suspects.
They have been described as white with Irish accents. They had their hoods up.
Police are investigating the burglary and any witnesses are urged to come forward.
Call police on 101 quoting crime reference 41/10148/20.
