NORTH Shropshire residents looking to travel into Shrewsbury still face heavy disruption thanks to flooding.

Travel links into Shrewsbury remain heavily disrupted after more heavy rain affected the area.

Several roads and car parks in and around the town remain closed, with bus and train routes also being disrupted.

Low-lying roads including Victoria Avenue, Old Coleham, Chester Street and Cross Street are all still flooded.

Priory Road remains closed because of roof damage at the Quarry Swimming Centre and the Town Walls are closed while Cadent investigate and repair a gas leak.

London Road meanwhile remains open.

Shrewsbury’s three main shopping centres – Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside – will be closed again today.

Services from Shrewsbury Railway Station will run to and from Chester and Crewe, but all other lines are closed.

Across north Shropshire meanwhile, Colliery Road and Clarke’s Lane in St Martins are closed, as well as Burma Road in Park Hall.
