Fire crews battled to subdue a fire at a residential property in Ilford in under an hour.
Shortly after 12pm yesterday (April 7) four fire engines and 25 firefighters scrambled to an inferno at a house in Empress Avenue, Ilford.
A lean-to next to a mid-terraced property was destroyed by the fire and part of the external fascia of the house was also damaged.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Crews cooled two gas cylinders which were involved in the fire to an ambient temperature as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
The brigade's 999 Control Officers took 19 calls to the fire.
Fire crews from Ilford, Stratford and East Ham fire stations reported the fire under control at 12.47pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
