A MAN has been charged with drug offences after a raid at a house in Bewsey.

Officers executed a search warrant at a property on Lodge Lane shortly after 5.15pm on Saturday, May 23.

Two men suspected of being street dealers in the town were arrested – while a quantity of class A drugs and cash was also seized.

Stephen Edmonds, of Cairo Street in the town centre, has since been charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine in connection with the raid.

The 40-year-old will appear before Warrington Magistrates Court next month to face these charges.

But the second suspect, a 22-year-old who was held for an alleged offence of possession of cocaine with intent to supply, has since been released under investigation by Cheshire Police.

A force spokesman said: “At 5.21pm on Saturday, May 23, officers executed a warrant at an address on Lodge Lane.

“Two men, aged 22 and 40, were arrested at the address and taken to custody.

“The 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine has since been released under investigation – the 40-year-old has since been charged.

“Stephen Edmonds, of Cairo Street, has been charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of heroin.

“He has been bailed and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on June 23.”
