A photographer has been taking lockdown doorstep portraits to raise money for a charity.

Portrait photographer Jenny Burrows from Ruislip, has been raising money for a charity which supports twin families, Twins Trust, by taking portraits at doorsteps.

The photographer is going to families in Harrow and Hillingdon to create ‘doortraits’ for people to have photographic memories during the lockdown period.

She has cycled over 50 miles to take 26 doorstep portraits so far and is looking for additional households in the area to take part in the project.

Each doorstep photography session takes around 10 minutes and follows strict social distancing rules.

Ms Burrows said: “I wanted to find a way to mark this extraordinary moment in time and help families create some precious memories to look back on in years to come.

“With two twin boys of my own age 9, The Twins trust is a charity very close to my heart. I’m not charging for these sessions but hope to raise as much money as possible for other twin families.”

Shelley Smith, Head of Fundraising at Twins Trust said: “We’re so grateful for the support from Jenny – the donation will help to support families of twins and triplets who need it more than ever during this difficult time.”

She also teamed up with Headstone Manor and Museum for ‘On Our Doorsteps – Harrow in Lockdown’ to capture a series of photographs of communities in Harrow – which will be feature in the museum’s collection and will feature in online and physical exhibitions in the future.
