A care provider has paid tribute to its staff who have been looking after elderly and vulnerable people during the coronavirus pandemic.

The UK is in lockdown, but there are many who have to go out and work to keep essential services running.

They include doctors, nurses, carers, police officers, postal workers, delivery drivers, shopkeepers, teachers, supermarket workers, bus drivers and many more.

After we asked readers online to nominate essential workers they know, Always There Domicilary Care singled out workers Karen I, Kirsty M, April S, Jenna B, Jenna B, Rebecca J, Sarah T, Beth W, Elizabeth M and Diana S for their patience, remarkable optimism and great intentions.

The firm said: "Always There Domiciliary Care would like to say an enormous thank you to our dedicated carers. They always go the extra mile for those we care for and nothing is ever too much trouble.

"We are immensely proud of the positive impact they are having on our clients' lives. They show great patience, sometimes talking with clients who do not remember who they are or helping somebody who doesn’t have the strength or ability to leave their bed.

"Because of our carers, local parents, friends, family members or children have a kind-hearted person looking after them and they look forward to the future with a little more hope.

"Every effort they make no matter how big or small adds to our clients quality of life and that is admirable."
