Friendly service and recommended products including coronation chicken and sausage rolls have helped earn a bakers and café recognition as one of the favourite shops in the Watford area.

The Watford Observer is running a love local business campaign and as part of this we are asking readers to nominate recipients for My Favourite Local Shop to highlight those who give excellent customer service or have gone the extra mile to help the community during the coronavirus pandemic.

Eats & Treats, in St Albans Road, Watford was proposed by reader Hannah Potter, who said: “This is a lovely family run bakery and cafe/ sandwich and coffee shop. It feels like a really community minded local business.

“The service is friendly and the food is fresh and delicious and excellent value for money. Everything is freshly made to order and you're spoilt for choice with salad, sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes and breakfast options. There's also plenty of sweet treats including cakes prepared on site.”

Asked why she would recommend the shop, Hannah wrote: “If you fancy a lovely freshly made breakfast or lunch, or want some sweet treats for later on I'd really recommend popping in, or looking up Eats and Treats on your preferred delivery app. Whatever you choose, your food is made to your specifications.

“I'd recommend the coronation chicken with plenty of salad from the extensive list of options. My dad, who lives in Brighton, likes the sausage rolls so much I have to take one down with me when I visit. My daughter loves the teddy bear shortbread biscuits too.”
