A medical director is delighted to be joining the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust at "such an exciting time".

Dr Fay Gilder has been appointed as the new medical director at the trust which runs Princess Alexandra Hospital, St Margaret's Hospital and Essex Hospital.

Fay joins PAHT on November 2 following more than 25 years at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust at such an exciting time.

“I am passionate about openness, diversity of thinking, knowledge sharing and technology as ways of enabling great clinical outcomes together.

“I am very much looking forward to working with all of my colleagues at PAHT to support the delivery of our ambitious plans as we move in to a new hospital.”

Lance McCarthy, chief executive of PAHT, added: “Fay joins us with a wealth of experience in senior leadership roles and is driven by improving the quality, safety and experience of care for patients and the working lives of staff.

“I am extremely pleased to have appointed Fay to this key role at PAHT and very much look forward to welcoming her to the team in the autumn.”
