A man suffered a heart attack shortly after he was assaulted at a bus stop.

The man, aged in his 50s, was injured at Scotland Green bus stop in Tottenham High Road, on the evening of Friday August 28.

When the victim returned home, he had a heart attack and he was taken to hospital.

He remains there in a critical condition.

Police are trying to piece together a picture of what took place at the bus stop and also work out whether anything was stolen from him.

The Met is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward.

Detective Constable Jane Fluckiger said: "Unfortunately we do not have any descriptions of suspects or even the exact time frame for this offence as the report was made via a third party.

"However, the victim returned home with cuts on his face stating he had been robbed by two males at Scotland Green bus stop and therefore it is possible the incident happened between 9pm and 10.0pm.

"If you know what happened, or even if you think you saw anything suspicious or out of place, please call us without delay, or report what you know anonymously via Crimestoppers."

Anyone with information that could help with this investigation is asked to call the police on 101 quoting ref CAD7929/28AUG20 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
