Alarming new figures show coronavirus cases in Enfield have more than doubled in seven days.
In the seven days leading to September 10 – the latest available accurate data – there were 144 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases recorded.
The figures were up 145 per cent from the 44 total cases reported in the borough on September 3.
The borough – which has an approximate population of 275,000 – now has an infection rate of 32.4 per 100,000 residents.
Coronavirus infection rates continue to rise across the capital, with all but 10 boroughs reporting higher rates.
Redbridge is the worst affected borough, recording 108 new Covid-19 cases at a rate of 35.4 per 100,000, up from 81 new cases the previous week.
Newham was the third London borough to report over 100 cases (115) up from 76 a week prior.
