A brave Bromley resident thwarted a burglary after angrily confronting the thieves as they broke into a house.
In a post to a local neighbourhood policing page for Bromley Common and Keston, a PCSO from the Met Police confirmed the incident took place in Faringdon Avenue last Thursday (September 10).
The suspects in the incident were said to have entered a property via the front door at around 4am.
But having broken into the house, they were promptly confronted by the resident, who is said to have came down the stairs shouting at them.
The suspects clearly weren't prepared to take any chances, and promptly fled the house.
The police statement warned homeowners to ensure that doors were properly locked.
It read: "Don't forget that when locking your UPVC multi-point locking doors you have to use the key to lock it. Lifting the handle engages the latches but doesn't lock it."
Anyone with more information about the reported burglary in Faringdon Avenue were asked to contact police.
