TWO areas in Herefordshire have seen more than 10 coronavirus cases recorded in just one week.

In the seven days to Saturday, October 18, a UK Government heatmap shows the areas in Herefordshire with the highest number of new coronavirus cases.

Penyard, Llangarron and Goodrich in the south of the county saw the biggest rise with 14 new cases in the seven-day period.

Ross-on-Wye had the second-highest increase as 12 new cases were found in the town.

The map breaks Herefordshire down into 23 sections known as Middle Super Output Areas. These are used to try and improve the reporting of small area statistics, with an average population over around 7,200 people in England and Wales.

In the east of the county, nine new cases were recorded in Colwall, Cradley and Wellington Heath and eight in Bromyard and Bishop's Frome.

Hereford Central and Credenhill, Weobley and Wellington both saw an increase of seven.

All other areas in Herefordshire saw an increase of five or below.

You can use the table below to see how many were recorded in your area.

The Government's heatmap can be explored here. It provides figures for areas which have had three or more positive cases in the seven-day period. Areas with one or two cases are not listed to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure".
