A primary school has been raising money for a new art room through an online auction.

Ferry Lane Primary School auctioned 20 pieces of artwork with Argent Related - which is working on a regeneration scheme in Tottenham Hale.

The auction closed on November 20 and it managed to raise £1,347 which will be used to fund a new art room for the school. The art work was created by architects working on the new development and varied in style from traditional landscapes to abstract work.

Students were also tasked to create pieces art focusing on London and four pieces were chosen by school staff and voted on by Argent employees. Year 5 student, Samuel, was announced as the winner and received a set of art supplies.

Acting headteacher at Ferry Lane Primary School, Lisa Rawashdeh said: "Argent Related's art auction was fantastic and especially in lockdown, it was a great way to celebrate Tottenham Hales' community spirit and creativity.

"Thank you to everyone who bid on the artwork and to the artists. The money raised will go a long way in helping to provide our pupils with a much-needed new art room."

Head of planning at Argent Related, Alexandra Woolmore said: "Tottenham Hale is a truly unique area with a strong creative community.

"This local context and Ferry Lane Primary School's vision for their new art space provided the inspiration for the art auction. It has been a privilege to support Ferry Lane Primary School and we can't wait to see all the other wonderful art that the pupils create.

"We look forward to working closely with other groups and organisations at the heart of the community as the development progresses."
