The victim of a fatal stabbing in Haringey on Tuesday has been named by police as 17-year-old Anas Mezenner.

"Humble" Anas died in hospital at 4.25am on Wednesday January 20, hours after he was found stabbed in Duckett's Green, close to Turnpike Underground station.

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to West Green Road at the junction with Willow Walk at 9.10pm and found Anas injured in the street.

The Met says CPR was administered at the scene before the was transferred to hospital, where the teenager later died.

Anas' next of kin have been informed of his death and they are being supported by specialist police officers.

His mother, who did not want to be named, said: "He (Anas) did not deserve this at all. He was a lovely boy.

"He was studying media at the moment, but he wanted to be a pilot. He was very academic at school. He got all his GCSEs."

His brother, 21, also paid tribute saying: "Anas was never, never about this knife crime stupidity, he always kept himself humble, he was always kind and always put others first."

Police have also confirmed two 16-year-old boys have since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The boys were taken into custody on Wednesday by officers investigating the stabbing.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and information about the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Jane Topping, who is leading the investigation, said: "My deepest sympathy is with Anas’ family. This is a tragic loss of a young man who was known to be kind and thoughtful, who was enrolled in a local college with a bright future.
