Rail passengers are facing major delays this afternoon due to a signalling fault.

The issue on the c2c line has saw all services between Shoebury and London Fenchurch Street suspended for more than half an hour.

In an update on Twitter just after 2pm, c2c the fault had been corrected and all lines had reopened.

It had previously warned passengers not to travel after closing all lines.

c2c says all trains across its network are impact, with cancellations and delays expected to be in place until at least 6pm.

Delays of up to two hours are expected.

Transport for London, Arriva Bus Route 7, Arriva Bus Route 8 and Arriva Bus Route 9 between Shoebury and Southend Bus Station are offering passengers with c2c tickets alternative transport until further notice.
