Roadworks are set to cause disruption to motorists using some roads in Enfield from this week.

Notices from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent detail the temporary measures that will be imposed while the works take place.

A section of Fox Lane is due to be closed tomorrow due to crane works.

The road will be shut as and when directed by signs and traffic will be prevented from using Fox Lane at its junction with Green Lanes for approximately 70 metres eastwards.

Roadworks in Hertford Road mean the following measures are due to take effect from Friday and are scheduled to last for around a week:

The one-way will be suspended eastbound in Gilbert Street, from approximately 25 metres from its junction with Hertford Road.

Gilbert Street at its junction with Hertford Road ¬ - the road will be closed and waiting and loading will be prohibited on both sides for approximately 25 metres from the junction with Hertford Road.

Carterhatch Road at its junction with Hertford Road – the road will be closed and waiting and loading will be prohibited on both sides for approximately 25 metres from the junction with Hertford Road.

During the closures the diversions will be via Gilbert Street and Unity Road and vice versa, and Carterhatch Road, Swan Way and Cedar Avenue and vice versa.

A separate order has already come into force for a section of Eastfield Road to be closed in relation to utility works in Hertford Road.

This involves the closure of Eastfield Road between its junction with Hertford Road for approximately 40 metres eastbound.

During this closure, the alternative route will be via Eastfield Road, Brimsdown Road, Green Street and Hertford Road.
