Motorists using two roads in Enfield are facing a prolonged period of disruption due to works in the area.

A notice from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent details proposals to temporarily restrict traffic, as and when directed by road signs, from using sections of Brimsdown Avenue and Croft Road at various times from the middle of April until October due to crane works.

The restrictions will be enforced in a phased fashion, starting in Croft Road, between its junctions with Redlands Road and Brimsdown Avenue, on April 13 and 14, April 20 and 21 and April 27 and 28.

A temporary closure of Brimsdown Avenue, between its junctions with Fouracres and Carterhatch Road, is due to be in place on May 5, before Brimsdown Avenue, from its junctions with Croft Road and Fouracres, will be closed on May 11 and 12 and May 18.

The next set of restrictions, as and when signs are in place, is again set to be in Brimsdown Avenue, between its junction with Leys Road East and Croft Road, from May 19 and then on various dates until July 14.

The final temporary closures in Brimsdown Avenue will be between its junction with Bell Lane and Leys Road East from July 20 on various dates until October 6.

Meanwhile, roadworks are set to lead to the temporary closure of part of Fox Lane from April 12.

Traffic will be prevented from using the road, at its junction with Green Laners, for approximately 70 metres eastwards, as and when directed by signage.
