A group of women skipped for 12 hours straight and raised thousands of pounds for a Watford charity.

Andi Huntley led her In-Sync Angels fitness group at Oxhey Bowls Club in memory of her late mother, who was cared for by Watford’s Peace Hospice.

She said: “We stayed there, were fed amazing food, led step by step through what mum was going through and I benefitted massively from the counselling service after my mum’s passing.”

The group completed relay skipping continuously from 7am to 7pm and with help from friends sold cakes and put on activities.

There was also a tattoo stand, hair braiding and a lucky dip.

The group raised more than £4k – smashing their £1,500 target.

“I’m so proud of everyone who helped make it happen,” Andi added. “As a team we pulled it off together.”

In-Sync Angel member Berenice Drury said: “I can’t believe how Andi went from having an idea during a skip interval at one of her sessions to organising almost single-handedly such a great event.

“She’s a superwoman!”
