A Watford woman will abseil 531ft down a tower in aid of a charity supporting disabled people.

Jenny Bridger, from Garston, is set to tackle the 162-metre challenge on the i360 viewing tower in Brighton.

She will be doing it in aid of Penniwells Riding for the Disabled in Elstree, where she works, which provides riding and horse care sessions for people of all ages and abilities.

Jenny said: “I'm so grateful for all the people who supported Penniwells through lockdown, enabling them to help come out the other side of Covid restrictions.

“But now is an especially important time because more than ever with riders coming back we need to be able to keep running.”

As well as providing care sessions, disabled riders are also given the chance to ride in competitions.

The centre is volunteer-run and relies entirely on donations and fundraising.

Jenny also revealed her fundraiser comes after a recent struggle with depression – but eventually contact with the charity’s horses helped her through.
